It can be argued that in documentary, cinematographers have the ability to play a more integral and creating role than in any other cinematic form. Indeed, often in documentary, filmmakers act as their own cinematographers. Ali Kazami and John Walker are examples of filmmakers / cinematographers whose work for their own films and that of others provide special attention to the inherent power moving images unto themselves have to affect story and impact the audience.

The notion of moving image documentary and cinematography in documentary will be discussed by this panel, with special attention to the impact moving image has on the audience journey.
